Chips manufactured by Elpida Company in 70nm technology.

In the half of January 2007 the well known Japanese producer of the memory - Elpida Memory Inc., began the mass-production of DDR2 chips in 70 nanometres technology. The new chip permits to diminish expenses for materials, what in turn is translated on the diminution of operating costs at about 40%. The most interesting is that the new technology will let on the enlargement of the output at about more than 60% comparatively to the same chips executed in 90nm technology. The practice shows that the 70nm process lets the enlargement of performance – because DDR2 memory chips will work with the standard clock rate, even 1000MHz.
The following advantage of new chips is their smaller size, thanks to what they consume less energy and give off less heat.  This fact will make easy into the significant manner the utilization of this technology in such mobile devices as cellular phones or PDA devices.
Wilk Elektronik S. A. is one of two strategic partners of Elpida in Europe, using the Japanese syndicate chips within the two years’ period. for the production of GOODRAM memory modules.
